Chris Lynn signed an 11-game deal with Adelaide Strikers to play in Big Bash League. He will also be appearing with Gulf giants in the UAE’s much-anticipated tournament ILT20 2023.
The leading run-scorer in Big Bash League, Chris Lynn, will receive a Non-Objection Certificate (NOC) to appear in both cricket leagues, which will be clashing dates.
Everything That Went Down During Signing of Chris Lynn and What It Means
Cricket fans were confused about whether the international players appearing in BBL will be able to make it to the Emirates league. Given the conflicting dates of both leagues, this was a justified concern. The good news came through Chris Lynn’s signing on both tournaments with a NOC, which made the fans hopeful that more international players would follow the same path.
However, Chris Lynn will be playing 11 out of 14 matches in Big Bash League, so he will not appear in the opening matches of UAE International League T20. The BBL will start from December 13 to February 14, 2023, while the inaugural season of the ILT20 will start from January 6 through February 12, 2023.
The CA stated on this NOC, “Cricket Australia welcomes the Adelaide Strikers’ signing of Chris Lynn, the highest run-scorer in BBL history, for 11 out of 14 games in the upcoming BBL|12 season. He will be released from January 20 to participate in UAE’s ILT20 competition from that date.”
It is a win-win situation for Chris Lynn as Lynn’s contract comes with huge money for both leagues. The fans can watch the heavy hitter appear in back-to-back two series.
Other international cricketers set to appear in both BBL and ILT20 include Sam Billings, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Russell, Chris Jordan, and Trent Boult.
Conclusion
Chris Lynn’s appearing in both BBL and ILT20 is a win for cricket fans. Other international players appearing in both series will follow the same NOC? It is yet to be seen, but Lynn’s signing on the highly anticipated first season of ILT20 with Big Bash has made the fans hopeful.
