Adani Group-owned team ‘Gulf Giants’ named Andy Flower as the head coach of the franchise team. The Gulf Giants will participate in the UAE T20 League, which named is now the international T20 League (ILT20), and the tournament will occur next year between January 6 and February 12. Andy Flower, the popular cricketer, turned coach, has now been appointed Head Coach of Gulf Giants.

The Gulf Giants cricket franchise is another addition to the Adani Sportline. The group revealed the logo of Gulf Giants on July 12, 2022, and Said ‘The Gulf Giants is an extension of Adani Sportlinse Brand – Gujrat Giants.”
The 2010’s T20 World-cup winning coach Andy Flower, is considered the greatest Zimbabwe cricketer, is leading a successful career as a Coach after retiring from cricket in 2003. In an official statement released by the franchise, Flower said, “I am very proud to be associated with Adani Group, particularly the Adani Sportlinse.” He added, “It’s exciting to be a part of any of the big franchise tournaments, and the ILT20 has big plans to be a major franchise tournament. As Leaders, our job is to serve the players as best as we can, and this principle is very important to me.”
The appointment of Andy Flower as the Head Coach is initially for the opening season of ILT20. “We are confident that Andy will contribute to the development and mentoring of a cohesive team,” said Adani Sportline’s Satyam Trivedi on the hiring of Andy Flower.
The group also added, “Andy, arguably Zimbabwe’s greatest ever cricketer, brings three decades of cricketing experience.” The inaugural season of ILT20 was set to be held in 2022 but is now pushed back to early 2023. Six-team will be facing off each other for the trophy in ILT20, with an expected 34 matches. In the league stage, every team will play against each other twice before moving to the four playoff matches.
Andy Flower is also a successful head coach of Multan Sultan in the Pakistan Super League, and also the Lucknow team in IPL, whose record stats speak itself.
