The International T20 league(ILT20 2023) hype and craze are increasing with every coming day. Also, all six franchises are closing their deals with players and coaching staff for the upcoming UAE T20 tournament which will start on 6th January to 12th February 2023.
The MI Emirates Coaching Panel for ILT20
MI Emirates announced their coaching team for the inaugural edition of the International T20 League. Former kiwi Fast bowler Shane Bond has been appointed MI Emirates Head coach. Also, he is working as a bowling coach in IPL for Mumbai Indians.
The coaching staff of MI Emirates includes former Indian Left-hand wicket-keeper batter Parthiv Patel and former Indian Right-arm fast bowler. They will play roles in the team’s batting and bowling, respectively. These players also served the Mumbai Indians team for a long time in the Indian Premier League.
Similarly, former Kiwi and Mumbai Indians all-rounder James Franklin will work as Fielding coach and Mahela Jayawardene is a Global Head of performance of all franchises of Mumbai Indians. Another name on the list is experienced Robin Singh, General Manager for MI Emirates in the Inaugural UAE T20 league 2023.
What Shane Bond Has to say about his New Role?
When talking to the media, Shane bond expressed his feelings about the new assignment and role as he added, “It’s a privilege to be appointed the head coach of MI Emirates. It’s always nice to build a new team, and I’m looking forward to furthering the MI legacy and inspiring our players to take the game to new heights.”
Appointing Shane bond as MI Emirates head coach looks like an early boost for MI Emirates’ confidence as he has won four IPL tournaments for Mumbai Indians. Also, he has been part of MI management since 2015. His bowling skills helped MI Indians to shine as bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah.
Batting coach Parthiv Patel served Mumbai Indians as a player till 2020, and then he was included in the Talent scouting team.
Karnataka pace sensation Vinay Kumar also played for Mumbai Indians. He joined the talent scouting team in 2021.
Chairman and owner of Mumbai Indians Akash M. Ambani also talked about the new coaching staff for the MI Emirates and welcomed Shane, Robin, Parthiv, Vinay and James to their roles in ILT20 for the MI Emirates.
