Much awaited inaugural season of the DP world International T20 League will take place across Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi in January 2023, as this is the first international t20 franchise league where UAE local players will get a fair chance to showcase their skills. Hence, they are excited about the league.
In a media talk, top-order batter Chirag Suri and left-arm spinner Jash Giyanani shared their views about the ILT20 league.
“Dubai Capitals was meant to be for me” – Chirag Suri
Dehli Born Chirag Suri thinks his selection in Dubai Capitals was meant to happen. In ILT20’s first edition, the Dehli Capitals IPL franchise has a Dubai Capitals branch. Since he was born in Dehli, Suri thinks and feels it differently. Here’s what he said
“When the Dubai Capitals picked me up, I thought this was a match made in heaven because I was born in Delhi, and now the Capitals, who have a franchise in Delhi (IPL), are in Dubai. So it was just meant to be for me. I used to play on the streets and playgrounds of Delhi with family and friends, and I continued to play cricket in Dubai when I moved here around 20 years ago. We love the cricket culture in Dubai. The game is growing here, and we are getting better. I am super excited that the DP World ILT20 is happening. It’s a great platform for all the cricketers around the world.”
Chirag Suri was also a part of the Gujrat Lions in IPL 2017, and in international games, he scored 817 runs in 31 T20 internationals for his National side.
UAE Players Jash Giyanani Here’s what left-arm spinner said,
“It took a little time to sink in when I learned that the Dubai Capitals picked me. I was really happy when I got the news. I am thankful for the opportunity.”
