The local UAE players Vriitya Aravind & Muhammad Waseem are part of the MI Emirates franchise in the first edition of DP World ILT20. The tournament will start in January 2023. Both players are very excited to play with experienced players such as Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran and other popular players.

UAE Batsman Muhammad Waseem to Play under Kieron Pollard’s Captaincy
The opening batter of the United Arab Emirates, Muhammad Waseem, started his international T20 career against Namibia on 5th October 2021 where he took two wickets and scored 39 runs. He has scored 743 runs in 20 T20s games at a strike rate of 143 and the highest score of 112. Waseem is eager to play with Pollard for the MI Emirates team in the first edition of DP World International League T20 2023.
Muhammad Waseem said, “I am very happy and feel lucky to be a part of such a big franchise. I will try my best to prove myself during the tournament. This is a huge moment for us that I can’t put into words. I will try to play my best and showcase UAE’s talent. I can’t wait to meet Kieron Pollard and play alongside him. I also played with him in Abu Dhabi T10 and learned a lot from him.”
Vriitya Aravind is Excited to Improve Batting & Wicket-keeping Skills with the help of Nicholas Pooran
The wicketkeeper-batter of UAE, Vriitya Aravind, played his first international T20 game against Iran on 23rd February 2020. Vriitya has scored 536 runs in 21 T20 innings at a strike rate of 122, with the highest score of 97. He expressed that he wanted to play for the MI franchise of MI.
Aravind expressed his feelings about playing for MI Emirates “It’s an honor and a privilege to represent one of the most successful cricket franchises in the world. I saw Sachin Tendulkar play for the Mumbai Indians team in the IPL, and I wanted to represent the MI franchise at some point in my life; therefore, I feel lucky to get a chance to be a part of the MI Emirates at an early age. I am looking forward to playing with Nicholas Pooran since we have similar roles as top-order batters and wicketkeeping. I think I will keep pestering him with questions.”
Final Thoughts
The MI Emirates will kick start their campaign for the ILT20 by taking over Sharjah Warriors on 14th January 2023 in front of fans at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium. Waseem and Vriitya are ready to play fearless cricket and share the dressing room with Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Pooran, Imran Tahir, Trent Boult, and other big players.
